What I Love About Blogging

“A blog is in many ways a continuing conversation” ~ Andrew Sullivan

I love writing. It’s very cathartic for me and it’s an avenue for a part of my soul to be offered unto others. Although I love sharing my writings and thoughts on here, that’s not what I love most about blogging. What I enjoy the most about blogging is having the opportunity to read each and every one of your blogs.

My interaction with other bloggers on here has shown me just how many incredibly gifted people there are in this amazing world of ours. It’s truly humbling. The writing talent that exist in this world is greater than I ever imagined. I love reading about other people’s experiences and perspectives.  Its gives me an insight into worlds other than my own. It expands my horizons and doesn’t limit me to viewing things only from my prism.

We're like snowflakes in a sense; we all have our own unique stories...no two stories are the same.

Blogging is a way of bringing people from different cultures, and in many ways, different worlds, together. I have corresponded with people on here from the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Brazil, Albania, Kenya, Canada, India, and Estonia to name but a few. There is a wonderment involved in communicating with someone halfway around the world. So to all who read this, I look forward to reading much more of your work in the future, and I sincerely thank you for all your feedback and comments on my blog. You make it such an enjoyable experience.

What do you love the most about blogging?

^^ So truuueee. You have beautiful talent! And thats one of the things I love about blogging too. or anybody's writing. I don't think that I'm better than any of the writers I follow Because we're all so different in our writing but its so well put and described in everyone's own way and interpretation. Its so enjoyable seeing all the differences connected through this amazing thing called writing. I love blogging because its an outlet, and a way to get my writing out there and inspire others too. And i get to meet and read other amazing creations as well that inspire me and make me happy.

  3. Lovely post. I started my blog because I love talking about myself, but only on my terms (not good in job interviews, which is a bummer). What's really great is when people decide they want to interact with me! Like you say - there are so many wonderful people out there, and some great friends I;d never have met if not through blogging.

  4. i would agree it is about the people for me...and 4 years ago when i started i never would have thought that...it took a bit for a friend to get me to start blogging...but the people i have met along the way...they are who i show up for...smiles..

  5. Good morning, Keith, yes, blogging is a bit like traveling without having to leave the comfort of my home! I always like to think "outside my skin" and always discover another way to maybe get to the same place. I also have a curiosity about minor things like what do people eat, good recipes, a favorite book and dreams and ambitions of others. Blogging is my journal, my dreams and visions and just simply what I am thinking about! Then, there is art, of course!

  6. You write of blogging, so eloquently! Thank you for saying things, which many of us, haven't yet been inspired to say.

    THANK YOU!

Me'thinks this is one of those sparkling blog entries, which I just *have* to link to, in my own blog... And request/suggest that my Dear Readers come over here, and read/enjoy it, for themselves.

    Again, thank you!

  7. And may I say Thank You to your Dear Readers, who have commented here. Their words are eloquent too! Lots of people, giving their own take, on the Joy Of Blogging!

    Gentle hugs to all,

  8. On your blog, you recently talked about likenesses and differences. Blogging is a way of bringing it all together. The more I expand my blogging reach, the more I enjoy it.

  9. Yeah so many great people in blogland and it is fun to see different parts of the world through their eyes. Always learning new things and keeping ones mind open to new ideas. Never would have guessed it when I started that I would enjoy it this much, but I do and will keep rhyming away at my zoo for a good long while.

  10. When I first read one of your posts, I was stunned for a moment. I thought, "People don't write like this anymore. This is from the heart and you always ask your readers what they think or feel." Your list of friends is growing long and strong and that is a good indication that many people yearn for writing that is heartfelt. You have been given the talent of writing and making each person feel special.

  11. I could feel the words said from heart here. Not many express their love for reading others; you showed a great humble inspiring me to read more blogs :)

For me sharing is what significant about blogging and I love sharing in whatever way it come truly.

  12. I love blogging .

Love writing posts and reading content from other readers, whether it is poetry, writings, make up, fashion or travelling. Also, I think it is rather interesting exchanging opinions and comments. Keep on making those awesome postings. Have a great weekend* :)

  13. I love looking back on old posts to see what stages I have gone through in the last few years, and how my tastes have evolved and changed. I also love the community and the support everyone has for each other, I have met some great people through my blog :)

  14. Blogging is refreshment for me ... I feel incomplete if a day passes without me posting anything on my blog ... and then I get to read so many beautiful stuffs from fellow bloggers ... it's an awesome world !!!

  15. I agree with your description except for loving to write. I do not like to write and truly have to push myself to do so.

As you well know, I prefer to express myself through visual means. After all, I was an art major. It has been years since I drew or painted. But, I do love my photography.

I would also be dishonest if I didn't admit that to some degree blogging is purely selfish for me. It provides a great avenue for self expression. I am surprised that so many enjoy my expressions. However, I am so very glad they do.

I enjoy your blog very much. You have become a favorite read and I hope you continue to blog. You are one of the rare finds when blogging.

It has taken me years to sort out truly good blogs and good friends from all over the world. I have hundreds of friends from places I can't even find on a map.

Some use me as they remember my old blog and are hoping I will gain the same success and exposure. Therefore, when I do, if I ever do, they too will gain a leg up.

Blogging is a series of lacing one blog together with another. The more laces you can weave yourself into the better your rankings and exposure are!

Please do keep writing. You have a marvelous following and they would miss you, including myself, if you did stop!

I hope you have a great weekend!

  16. People are total snowflakes!! We are all so different!

You couldn't have said it better. I love blogging for getting to see into each other's lives and like you said all the different views of the world. It's an amazing lil journey and adventure every time I see someone new! =)

  20. I love the idea that we're all unique like snowflakes!

I enjoy blogging for a number of reasons: I love "meeting" new people and reading their words, hearing their stories; I enjoy flexing a different writing muscle, more along the lines of personal essay than fiction; and, I like to talk about books and reading and writing and inspiration and motivation. :)

  21. I love blogging and I love my blogging family! Excellent post!

  22. I love connecting with others. I've made so many good friends because of blogging.

  25. I love blogging because I think it keeps me accountable for my work. It also allows me the chance for some reflection, even if the post I'm writing isn't that "deep" or whatever.

I'm not really good at finding other blogs. I've stumbled upon just a few over the years and keep hoping I can figure out blogger's system better. I have no idea how you ever found me on here, hahah~

    ReplyDelete
  26. Love ya buddy :-) Canada gets a shout-out from Keith. Booyah! Hehehe.

  27. I love the glimpses into other folks lives and the feeling that I am being heard.

  28. Oh I feel exactly the same way. Great post and insight. B

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love writing, too, and I love connecting with other people, people I never would have communicated with if not for blogging. You're a good writer, Keith, and you always make me think. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  30. You truly are a gifted writer! It is such a treat to read your posts! Blogging? I like the connection with others.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love your blog. I love the way you write! My favorite things about blogging are sharing the things that make me happy, and making friends. It truly is amazing how much you can connect with people you've never met, when we're sharing our thoughts, experiences and feelings through our blogs!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh how sweet :)
We love reading your blog too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love blogging because as you mentioned it gives me a chance to interact with many people that I normally would never interact with for many reasons. I also love blogging because I am able to get thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. out and it's not throwing it in peoples faces or forcing them to read it. It's there if they choose to. I feel that those who should read it will and those who stumble upon it will get what they need to out of it. If they get nothing out of it, then that's what they get. It's still something. It's there for all, but they get to choose whether to partake or not.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i don't write a lot on my blog. do more sharing of photos than anything. but i've been told my love of my rural surroundings and of birds and animals comes through my posts, loud and clear. that's all i hope to share is the beauty that surrounds me.

i have learned facts from blog posts. i've seen world views i'd never have seen otherwise. but i share and care about people's lives all over the world. that is priceless.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love the freedom of blogging. To just jot down my ideas, thoughts, and pictures knowing that somewhere they may make someone smile. I love to come and read blogs, and to see other happy faces and hear stories from others. It connects me to their world of words and pictures, and makes my day lighter. I get inspired by other bloggers, and I love to let them know just how much their posts mean to me. There is so much talent out there, and it should not go without praise!

Like this post~! Lovely words, my friend, and a very lovely blog, as well. =) My day just got brighter from it, so thank you for taking the time to write such a beautiful post.

  36. What I love most is the interaction. It's a very satisfying experience for me and I hope it continues. Enjoy your blog too, although I'm a relatively new follower. Keep doing what you're doing!

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is so beautiful, wow. I can't believe you've complimented me on my writings... Yours are just wonderful. I too am thankful for finding your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love the same things as you really. The interaction is the major thing. I love taking a look in to other people's lives and sharing in their joys and helping them through their pains. It is quite an experience.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I enjoy sharing my stories and wise things I've heard with other people in the hope of helping them along their journey, as these things have helped me.
    :]

  40. You're right about the different cultures, I love reading about places that I'd like to visit that are 'home' to others.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've always loved writing and it's an extremely potent catharsis. When it comes to blogging - - you've hit the proverbial nail on the head. I blog solely because of the wonderful people I have come to know through this unique outlet. Bloggers are very special people.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love blogging to be an encouragement. Sometimes when I'm down, I'll share about the goodness of our God. You never know who else is hurting out there that will read the words and be encouraged. :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love blogging because it's far deeper than the flavor of the month social networking site. It's a slice of life we can share with others that has soul in a rather soulless world. I've seen a great decline in blogging over the years but I'm so glad it's not faded away entirely.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I always enjoy your posts Keith! I enjoy the connection with others as well. Love learning about other people, cultures, ideas and experiences. It's like traveling, but without the cost. I love it also when I come across a writer who I admire and am awed and inspired by their talent. My favorite thing I think may be when I feel that sort of kindred soul kind of thing, like when I'm reading and nodding and say 'Yes! That's it!' Like someone out there 'gets' me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Blogging and the blogging world/community is amazing. I love it. Not only to I love to correspond with those near and far, but I love to hear others options, ideas, thoughts...or just their everyday. I'm so glad I'm a part of this amazing community. And I'm so grateful for those who read and support me. Best to all:)

    ReplyDelete
  46. When i love is the interaction. I look forward to reading writers that i had never heard of. You're right- the talent and diversity is astonishing. Great to read your thoughts :-)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think you said it perfectly. Through blogging I've been able to write honestly about things that concern me, thus helping me to work through them. I've also become friends with a diverse group of people that I would not have met otherwise. And, because we all like to write, a fair number of them are excellent writers who inspire me with their talent, as well as their understanding of whatever pile of trouble I've landed myself in. It's been a great experience - cathartic and exciting and rewarding all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I agree, it's the chance to meet other people around the world and to read their writings and see their photos

    ReplyDelete
  49. "We're like snowflakes in a sense; we all have our own unique stories...no two stories are the same." My favorite line ~

What I enjoy most is the interaction and feedback from friends and readers ~ It gives me confidence and support in my writing ~

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ~

  50. All the wonderful friends I've met through blogging. I do mean literally met.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  51. Good question Keith! What I like best about blogging is what I've always liked about being in the company of good minds.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Keith,

Blogging has for me, made the world become manageable, almost. It draws such wonderful talent together from all corners, to share and interact with each other.
I have generally only met kindness from those with whom I have exchanged messages. It has created something of a second family feeling:)
Thank you Keith, for being such a wonderful memeber of my extended world family:)

  53. I love your blog. Your soul really shines through your writing and it's such a pleasure to read you.

Not to be unoriginal (not sure this is a word...) but what I enjoy about blogging is very close to what you said. It's the interaction with other people from all over the world, having the learning opportunity to see it (the world) through other people's perspective, not just my own, and mostly it's feeling other bloggers' and readers' kindness extend to others.

I kinda wish I had found the blogosphere earlier! :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love hearing about other people and their stories, and I really love all the like-minded people I've connected with as well. I don't have any friends (real life friends haha) who keep chickens and are homesteaders like me, so it's nice to feel like I belong and I'm not crazy for loving my chickens :)

I also get so much inspiration from other bloggers, especially you and your blog! I enjoy reading your posts and they always give me something to think about!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I agree. I have met so many incredible people who hail from different parts of the world simply because I started blogging. These are people I probably wouldn't have thought I would have things in common with before blogging, but like your last post, reading and learning about them every day shows we are all similar, no matter what background we come from.

I sincerely enjoy coming here and reading yours. You are such a positive and upbeat person. You have one of those souls that seems to just glow, right through the words you share on your blog. So happy to have found you this year!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I completely agree! And I am so very happy that you recently found me and thus I found your blog and can share a little in your life. Hugs and best wishes x

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think the thing I like most about blogging is getting to know the authors behind the blogs and forging friendships. We are what we write.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I like blogging for all the reasons you mentioned, but most of all it is making new friends and really seeing that no matter where we live we really have so much more in common than not.
I thank you for all your kind comments and being one of my blogging friends. : )

    ReplyDelete
  59. Blogging has helped me look more deeply into my everyday world, appreciating it's beauty uniqueness afresh. Reading comments and enjoying the blogs of others is so inspiring and encouraging. Though I rarely leave my home town and am often busy with family commitments in the home all day, I am not isolated.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Another of the great things about blogging is that I'm creating a photographic journal. I often look back to check on dates and details. Blogging primarily through photos helps me identify and remember little milestones better too.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The community and the support. We can meet those from around the world and learn from them. We have the opportunity to do so much for so many and with only our words.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I really enjoy blogging. I can remember when i first got a computer with the internet and i began to communicate with other people and share my writing with them. It was an awesome feeling. When i first got into blogging i used it as a journal of sorts. I've realized that i like sharing my daily thoughts as well as poetry. It's an awesome feeling when people are reading your work and telling you they enjoy it or that they feel you. I do it for myself first but the compliments are nice, too.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I write because words can live forever. And if they live forever, we live too.
I wrote a poem about how much I love writing. It is called 'More Than Words'.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You have such an inclusive point of view, I can see why you you get many interesting comments. I always like to find out what you think and feel, thank you for sharing with all of us. Love & light!

  65. That's such a lovely way of putting it! I think my favourite part of blogging is being able to connect with so many people all over the world and meeting so many lovely people :) xo

  66. You're already done a great job expressing the same feelings I have about blogging. It's about the people, and about the surprising sense of connections and community I've found here. It's a place to find bright caring people, many of whom are quite different than I am, but who all share one important thing. We all love the written word... both reading it and writing it. Being a word nerd makes me different from most people in my everyday life, but in the blogosphere, it makes me one of the crowd.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I just love getting to know and making some really awesome friends! It's wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  68. This was so beautiful---so well put, and inspired. Great post, (insert first name), I loved it. :) I too think it's a neat thing when such a range of people can be brought together. We really do open ours souls in a way, and there's a magic that can be felt when we team together and support each other. Love it. :D

  69. A very beautiful, well said and thought provoking post, Keith, thank you so much for sharing. I love to blog for a few reasons. One is that I find it therapeutic in that I am able to share my thoughts and things I love with others...even though I don't write as much as some do, I am able to share things in my way. I get a great feeling knowing that my posts encourage, inspire and make others smile or laugh. I also love to read other's posts, like yourself, and it gives me the opportunity to see how others think and live. It is kind of like travelling the world from the comfort of my home, in a way. I have "met" many wonderful people through blogging and I am truly grateful for their friendship. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your kind comments, I really appreciate it so much.

  70. I created a blog to be able to share my thoughts with like-minded people and I have found many of those. It is the modern equivalent of having a pen pal (without the cost of the postage). Good post.

  71. Wonderful post. I love blogging too (I think that started my blog was one of my best decisions ever), and mainly for the same reasons: it´s a fantastic way to know myself (and others) better. It´s also a way to meet kindred spirits and make my true self visible. Have a nice weekend

  73. My blog ~ like face book ~ is a place for me to connect with others. A place to learn and share, Laugh and cry, and pray. My blog has been helpful at building my self esteem. I am a very transparent people person :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow, you really get a lot of comments!
Interesting post. I'm not sure what I like best about blogging. It has to do with sharing, but also with creating something. It's wonderful to be able to self-publish and it's a good discipline to do it every day.

  75. Greetings Keith,

Indeed, my friend and your posting echoes, very much the ideals I have mentioned in many a posting. Luckily, because you get far more attention than me, you can enhance the awareness I have tried to convey for nearly six years.

Good sir, we are all apart of a sharing, caring blogging community. Through this positive interaction, through the lessons we learn from each other, we realise that within this great diversity, we all are different, all equal.

    Have a peaceful, positive weekend.

  77. I like what you said about the snowflakes. What a funny coincidence. I was just reading to my daughter a book about snowflakes. Yes, each snowflake is unique. They have much in common but they are all unique. Anyway, I blog because the opportunity to express one's thoughts is precious and it affords us the opportunity to make meaningful connections. It's the serendipity of it that makes it wonderful. Thank you for this post.

  79. I started blogging a little over a year ago without a real direction to where I was going with it. I think I'm still finding myself in the big blog world. I enjoy reading so many blogs and consider every blogger that I read daily a friend. It's a bit of a different world than my real one and I love how it can transform part of my day.

  80. I started blogging with my writer's group and found it to be a great way of networking. But really, I love the discipline it gives me. Because I am a mother/wife/ teacher/ friend/ avid reader/ etc. I generally do not allow myself the time to just write. I am so busy taking care of everyone and everything else that I forget about "me' time. Writing allows me that "me" time. I guess put simply, I blog because I love to write. :D

    Very thought provoking post!

  82. Isn't it interesting? I mean, how many people we don't know. Blogging I suppose helps you get in touch more with people anywhere and perspective and insight. It's lovey.
Think about how many people we don't know. This world is full of billions of people and we know no one (relatively). Billions. Dying and living. Maybe that's a purpose. To know them.

    ReplyDelete
  83. This is sweet, I like your perspective here. I enjoy blogging because it's a way to feel heard, even if no one comments, but just knowing that I shared my personal thoughts on the net on a page I customized to fit my inner world. I love blogging because it's like an opened journal, and I love how we can be anonymous or hide parts of our identity on the internet and in that way it's really freeing.
Writing on the internet makes me feel less alone in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Very much the same, I love hearing people's stories and how they tell their story versus how I would tell that story.

    ReplyDelete
  85. You hit the nail on the head. Seems like you've generated quite the international following! Very impressive!

My favorite thing about blogging is reading others' stories -- and often going back and rereading my own too!

    ReplyDelete
  86. You have said it all! I have encountered so many interesting people through blogging and though I will never meet most of them I feel a connection with them. Often I am humbled by their experiences. I am so glad I started blogging:-)

  87. I think I value most the mix of comments and the way I learn more about myself from reading them.

  88. 'I write because I want to remember and because words hold more truth than memories sometimes' Spot on :) I love blogging because I can share the whirlwinds as well as the silent breezes within me through which connections form and I get to know so many awesome people on Earth I would've never known.

  89. Awesome post..I like blogging because I can share my "worlds" with others without always being shouted down. I can express opinions about things that annoyed. It is a place to remember things.

I enjoy reading others blogs that talk about their days and their towns and their lives. IN places I may never get to see in my life.

  91. Reading you always remains a delight. You really are extremely optimistic, that means there never comes a post of you that lets the heart down! All along you're one amazing blogger and we're really happy to have you around to get to read.

Blogging is an other worldly experience to me. All together, I'm a completely different person on the outside, someone who cracks a joke at every second line, High on life, happy to look from the outside. Blogging lets my heart to speak. It lets me think as to why is a part of me delimited. And then I have amazing blogger friends like you guys, to always guide along, as to whether or not to let those thoughts prosper.
Thanks for being so amazing all along :)

  92. Hi Keith .. I love blogging from the support network and love blogging for myself as I learn so much .. and thankfully my take on life appeals to others - for which I'm eternally grateful.

One other aspect is that we can learn about so many different challenges and opportunities to life ... and from that experience new thoughts ... I love the learning aspect .. and I've found Steampunk ... via the Olympics - but many blogging friends write under this genre .. and I have a (vague) insight!

    Cheers - it's a great medium I think ... Hilary

  96. I'm not sure really. I love writing, but blogging has just become a habit - something I 'like' doing.

By the way your blog is fantastic. Well written and always a pleasure to visit.

  97. I have the same thoughts about blogging- being able to communicate with people all over the world is wonderful- it's a way for us to all realize and respect how different we all are and yet quite similar. I appreciate our blogging community that is so open and caring and sharing.

  98. It is the connecting and sharing between people that love writing, that keeps me blogging again and again.....and reading other's blogs again and again....so many are a great inspiration you included Keith....you always keep us inspired and thinking! :-)

  99. Beautifully said. I love reading about how others are living their lives. My favorite blogs are the journal type blogs. I like the opportunity of glimpsing tidbits of their days. Maybe it's the creepy voyeur in me. *shrug*

  101. Well said!
Most of us don't realize that by blogging we are opening up a whole new world for ourselves.

  102. Thank you for your comment on my blog lettersfromlaunna.blogspot.com . I thought I would check out your blog, I feel the same way, I love to write but I really love to read other people's blogs and get to know them through their words. People are amazing and I have come to know many people throughout the world too. Great post:)

  103. Starting my blogging journey was definitely a step out of my comfort zone. Although I loved writing, I wasn't sure I could keep up with a routine. At the time I thought inspiration was responsible for what I wrote, now I know that I am responsible for inspiration.

Blogging has helped me evolve way more than I ever expected, not only by meeting amazing people, as you say, but also by expanding my mind and making me grow at an extraordinary speed!

  104. Thanks for visiting my blog Keith. I've found blogging to be an unexpected adventure and learning experience. When I started it was mostly about tracking my own story and sharing information but what I've gained since then is a group of close friends and support I could not have imagined. Without meeting so many other wonderful people I don't think I would have continued blogging for so long.

  105. It is amazing that blogging means so much to all of us, and yet there are many different reasons why we all blog. I do think that it's the relationships that keep us coming back for more. I'm jealous that so many visit your blog purely based on your writing skills. I enjoy writing, but it has not become the niche of my blog. Yes, I am still writing, but I tend to cater to my followers. You make me want to start another blog where I can specifically write and document my thoughts.

  106. I think my favorite aspect of blogging is the people - they are wonderful! I've made great friends, learned a lot, and have enjoyed great conversations through the comments. It's been a blessing in so many ways.

  107. I must admit...I have my ups and downs. Blogging takes work. And energy. And persistence. But at the of the day....I do adore writing. About the little and big detaIls in life. I'm so glad I found your blog. It's such a pleasure to read, Keith. Cheers.

  108. I love reading other people's blogs as well.

What I love the most is being able to record things that my children say and do. I'd forget half of it if I didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I feel the same.
In fact, in some ways, the friendships and connections I've made through blogging, are more meaningful than with my circle of friends where I live! Writing is soulful and blogging can be so encouraging, can't it?
    Keith, thanks for being here.

  111. Add Spain to that list, you've been visiting my blog too! ;o)

You've pretty much nailed down what I enjoy most about blogging too! It's the interaction with fellow bloggers. Both those who read and comment on my blog, and those whose blogs I follow and comment on. It seems like long conversations on ever-changing topics and it's delightful! I've "met" many people I never would have otherwise! :o)

  112. i love rambling, reading others' posts. i find amazing things and thoughts. The most important is making friends. Thank you Keith...

  113. I love to read about the experiences of others, and to live it in my imagination, even if I can't do it in person at that time. It is a cathartic experience, as sometimes feelings can be vague, and abstract, and other types of communication apart from verbal are needed. I love making new friends, and meeting people from around the world. Love the way words can weave their magic and inspire you to be the best you can be.

  114. Love this Keith, what a wonderful post. You always have such a way with words, and I'm loving the quote you chose. What I love about blogging is being able to share my story and having it saved forever. Like the quote says "Words hold more truth than memories sometimes." Hope you have a wonderful week.

  115. Blogging is my daily journal. At the end of each year, I spend time going back over the posts for the year. It's an interesting process.

  116. I agree, it is such a blessing to be able to connect to others. That is the primary reason I do what I do as a performer and why I feel called to perform. CONNECTION. Blogging is really a way for me to sort my thoughts in a way that I can't with paper. For me, it is like writing my thoughts on a paper I toss to the wind to be found by whoever catches the breeze. I enjoy that about reading others' blogs, as well. It's like finding a message on the wind. Thanks for your beautiful blog, Keith. <3

  117. I love the people I've connected to through blogging and you are a new blogger I've connected to and I love your site! I've actually met several people who I met via my blog "in person!" That was such a joy. Thanks for sharing peace here with so many, it's important!

  118. Well said! I think you summed it up for most of us... The amount of inspiration is humbling. Personally, I love the diversity (in all forms).

  119. I love the fact that I can write what I feel and as a result have a better feeling for what to write about.

And then people read my stuff and say its good. More positive feedback than in a life time of work and school!!

  120. I lover the connectedness I feel with others I would never have met if not through blogging. It's breathtaking to think of how many connections across this planet are there now because of blogging.

    ReplyDelete
  121. You are so right - blogging has allowed me to connect with people I never possibly would have "met" otherwise. And I too am impressed by people's writing (and photography) talents.

  122. There is no one thing that I love about blogging. I started blogging as a way to put my thoughts together, and to start writing again. Not necessarily creative writing, but writing in general. Nearly four years later, and I'm still plugging away. I consider my blog my "online journal." It's for memories and experiences. My memories and experiences. I want to remember both the big things and the small things, and I know that, if I don't write them down, that I will forget. Those feelings are, as you said, different from all the other perspectives here in the blogging world, and I greatly enjoy reading them. I have formed some wonderful blogging relationships. That said, I never imagined that I would be so fond of people I have never met.

  123. Keith, this is such a wonderful post! I have to agree with you, for me writing is also very cathartic and the feedback from other bloggers is always inspiring and interesting to see others perspectives. I have formed some of the best relationships with other bloggers and enjoy reading about their lives. I love the line "We're like snowflakes in a sense; we all have our own unique stories...no two stories are the same." So true, and we can all learn from each other :)

  124. I like just writing things down and getting them out my head. I write for a living, so am ashamed to say my blog is not the best written thing in the world!! HOwever, I have this little inkling that maybe one day I'll go back and rewrite some of my stories into something better. This is when I have the time and inclination to, not yet happened I might add - and because I wrote them down, I'll actually remember them (my memory is horrible for the most part!).
Your blog on the other hand is always most eloquently written and I enjoy reading it along with many other ppl by the sounds of it!

  125. I blog for fun, mostly. I enjoy having a moment to myself with my computer and a cup of tea. I love the atmosphere of the blogging world. One minute I could be reading the blog of someone in my city, and the very next I could be commenting on a blog written by someone around the globe. It's fascinating, and such a joy to be a part of.

Not to mention, I can unapologetically talk obsessively about my cat. She always seems to make every single one of my readers the most happy.

Keep on blogging Keith! We're all loving what you put on here.

  127. I'm about to respond to this post on my blog! What a thoughtful question. Shockingly, I've never given it much thought. I'm about to explore my feelings on blogging!

  128. They say that everyones life is an unwritten book. I think that blogging helps peopple to share just a little of that book within - from the words written, the images posted, - right to the layout of the blog itself - a little piece of the soul of the blogger, the 'book inside', - is revealed.

I'm just embarking into the world of blogging - I've read so many useul blogs over the past year, on all subjects, from horse care to cookery, from poetry to photography.

I figured that as I spend so much time engrossed in blogs - I ought to graduate from the social networks and start writing my own story :)

    Your blog is lovely!

  129. I love blogging because of the people that I have met as well. I enjoy getting a glimpse into the lives of different people all across the world and I love seeing what they're interested in and what they enjoy doing. I feel inspired when I see all of the creative things that people are doing.

I also love food blogs because I've always been someone who needs a recipe in front of me when baking or cooking. Even if it's a recipe that I've done countless times, I look at a recipe. So, since I'm not the type of person to throw things together and come up with something new, I need inspiration from other people.
