This is why...

Oftentimes, people will ask me why I love mornings so much. Sometimes it's hard to explain to a non morning-loving person. But in moments like this I think to myself, they don't know what they're missing...

Do you like/love mornings?

  1. I am very much a morning person. I love watching people going to work, when I don't have to. Seeing the sun rise. It is also a time when I get things done.

  2. yes I love mornings too-have always been an early person-even when I was working late nights I still was up before 6 am I love the beautiful sunrises too-such a wonderful gift to start the day

  3. I love early mornings... it's quiet... I can get a lot of work done then too ;-)

  4. I love morning but I realized with your post that I have missed a lot. Thanks.

  5. That would be me - non-morning person. I see sunrises five days a week. Often I miss them because I get to work before the sun comes up. Sleeping in past the sunrise is a treat for me.

  6. Yes, I am much more a morning person than a night person. I love getting up with the whole day ahead of me.. Each day is a fresh slate. And you are right about the beauty of a sunrise. It is awe-inspiring to greet a new day!

  7. I'm not a big morning person because I usually sleep so terribly. But, I love to witness a sunrise/sunset. There's nothing like it. Especially at the ocean front. Gorgeous picture you got there!

  8. Ah mornings....before the roar of the traffic, laden with birdsong, the rest of the family still in bed.....

  9. I love morning, as it's a fresh new start and I'm always grateful for this gift.

  10. I love morning, and waking up early could never be fresh like anything. But I rarely experience early morning that too while traveling.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ah, yes! People who don't get up early really miss out!

    ReplyDelete
  12. There is something fresh, optimistic, and rejuvenating about the early morning hours. It seems like the entire world is starting anew.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love mornings, as long as they're solitary... Don't want to talk much at that time. I love the night too, maybe a bit more, it feeds my creativity better.

  14. Up at 3:10A M-F and 4:30A on the weekends :)

  15. I have to get up at 4:30 a.m. and I love the early morning quiet while I prepare for the day. Mornings are my favorite. I love your picture!

  16. I love mornings. A new beginning, a fresh start, another opportunity. So much to be grateful for in the morning, to open my eyes and look forward to a brand new day. What will I learn, discover, enjoy today? What will make me think, ponder? What can I do to make a difference today? Each morning is a gift. Good morning, Keith :)

  17. The sunrises, the quiet, the stillness of the world. The coffee!! I'm glad there are night owls, those who sleep in. Otherwise, the world would be so noisy so early and our special time would be lost. Early mornings, I feel like I'm the only one awake. My best thinking is done then. :)

  18. I'm more of a morning person than a night person. The air is so fresh and clean and new in the morning, the day so full of possibilities.

    and the quiet . . .

  20. Hi Keith!:) Getting up at 6am in summer is something I really enjoy. Eating my breakfast outside and listening to the sounds of wildlife awakening is a joy, and a privilege.

    ReplyDelete
  21. everything is bright fresh and quiet, I know just what you mean, like starting over each day, I love mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great picture! I love mornings as well, I don't like to sleep in and get up at 7 on Sundays just to be able to enjoy the mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Beautiful photo, I agree and for me its not something I can describe, its a feeling, you just have to feel the beauty of early mornings,

    ReplyDelete
  24. That is a beautiful picture of Sunrise !
I am not a morning person but I love enjoying the mornings.
    Cool post., Keith !

    ReplyDelete
  25. Seing that sunrise, I realize I could appreciate more mornings by looking more at it...usually I always need a good cup of coffee to wake up, then its automatic. Off to start the day. Thank you for sharing that nice picture with us! **

  26. Beautiful picture!

Yes, I love mornings. It's the only time of day when the house is quiet and I can be alone with my thoughts (or my writing or painting). ☺

    ReplyDelete
  27. That is a beautiful picture and yes one of the great reason to wake up early for a glimpse of light over the horizon. Watching the sunset can be just as inspiring.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am indeed a morning person ~ I adore the start of the day.
The quiet contemplation with the morning sunrise, the lovely tweets of the first awakening birds right before dawn, the excitement of a new unfolding day .
    Ah yes ~ I love mornings !

    ReplyDelete
  29. I wouldn't exactly say that I am a morning person - I used to LOVE staying up late. Almost everyone else is asleep and it's calm and quiet...even social media is quiet for the most part. However; for work my alarm goes off at 5:30am and Walter wakes up at 6am on the weekends - so I am forced to be a morning person now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Early mornings are full of possibility - and at my age, my far more likely to be seen than a late night!

    Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not much of a morning person really. Generally the only time I see the sunrise is when I haven't gone to sleep. Which is a shame because I do quite like it, as well as the sunset. I just wish it didn't have to happen so early in the day.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I do like mornings! Mica and I wake up happy. Travis (my husband) and Isaak are more night people. Mica and I hum and sing in the morning. The others roll their eyes at us. It's just pretty in the morning.

A long time ago I used to be more of a night person - before I had kids.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I do like mornings! :) But I love anytime of day with the sky is looking beautiful. Bright blue with big fluffy clouds is my most favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nice picture!. I am a morning person and love mornings also. Love the stillness and sky of early mornings. I also love sunset

    ReplyDelete
  35. I do like mornings, particularly in middle age. When I was younger I was more of a night person. Well, I'm still also a bit of a night person.

    ReplyDelete
  36. it is my favourite time of the day, tell me keith i managed to upload Picasa3 again and i brought all my photos back now I don't dare go to blogspot only to have all my photos taken again, any suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am exceedingly grateful for each morning I experience! Such a wonderful time of day!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm a sunset man by choice but a sunrise man by necessity.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mornings can be such beauteous things.
But I really like sleeping in.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i miss too many early mornings. i let dogs out sometime in the dark morning hours, then go back to sleep if i can. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, I am definitely a morning person. But I think I love sunrises and sunsets equally.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mornings are glorious. At this stage of my life I am a bit more of a night owl, but I do love mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I adore the quiet of the early morning.

    ReplyDelete
  44. A good reason to get up early indeed, if you haven't stayed up too late lol otherwise, it'll be there tomorrow as I sleep in lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. I used to get up early every day. And now when I do, I am so glad I did. I am trying to get back into early morning mode.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've always been a morning person so I get what you love about it. I will add a cup of coffee to that photograph though.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    ReplyDelete
  47. I adore mornings.
I think it's a combination of serenity, the beautiful sunrise, coffee, and quiet thoughts that encompass the beginning of a day. There's no time like it!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am up between 4 and 4:30 am and agree mornings can be as beautiful as the sky at dusk!

    ReplyDelete
  49. As the day goes on I feel better and better. When I lived in San Antonio I wished I could mow my grass at night. I had plenty of light. Street light on the corner, security light in front of garage and security light between my house and rental duplex. Somehow I didn't think my neighbors would appreciate it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love that time of the morning when the birds sing up the sun. The fresh smell in the air, that hush of quiet. That feeling that it's a new day and a fresh start. It gives me a feeling of peace and beauty.

But then, I also love the evening of long shadows across the land as the sun sets. The symphony of sounds as the day settles in to sleep and the night comes alive with it's own citizens. It's all better with a good cup of coffee and time to think and dream. :-)

  51. Yes, I like mornings, although I'm not usually out early watching the sunrise. I like to get up and get at the day early.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Love the quiet of the morning, but not the getting up part. I am more of a sunset person...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Once I am up, I love how beautiful mornings are. It's the process of getting out of bed that I hate.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Early morning is heavenly. One feels joy of being given a head start from those still asleep. That is saying a lot. Substantial creative pursuits can be achieved while enjoying the sunrise! That is true Keith! They don't know what they are missing!

  55. I am NOT a morning person, but only because I don't like to talk in the morning until about ten. I like to get up early though. This morning there was fog mixed with sunrise. Very peaceful and pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  56. You have made a very good case for mornings in just one photo and a few words :) I am unable to declare myself a morning or an evening person, greedily soaking up as many minutes of the day as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh I really wish I was a morning person but I am not one at all hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  58. I miss getting up early. I had to stop because the dogs wouldn't/couldn't understand why I am up but not taking them out. Try to explain "full bed rest" to a dog. Let alone two! So I've been staying asleep later because Rob doesn't need to get up as early as I like. Hopefully soon, the dogs and I can return to our early morning routine. I miss my sunrises.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Gorgeous sunrise.. I LOVE mornings --but we don't live where we can see the sunrise.. SO--we don't usually get up as early as we would if we could see that beautiful sunrise... When we go to Arkansas to our little cabin on the mountain, we always get up REALLY early to see the sunrises... LOVE 'em!!!
    Hugs,

  60. it's 2h12 and i'm still drinking my coffee can't wait until tomorrow morning i' am such an introvert, too much noise, i tried to leave google but i'm a blogger through and through

    ReplyDelete
  61. It is a gorgeous picture!!! I am the same, but with sun SETS!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I woke up at 5.30am today so I got to see all of it. The sun was bright pink and then it hid behind huge grey clouds. Amazing colors. I refrained from taking pictures, I decided to keep it just for me today! But then, there you were your post popped on my blogger dashboard! Thanks for sharing Keith! :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I am not a morning person. I get up early enough and all is quiet which is nice and i understand watching the sunrise but I love to stay in bed when my joints allow me to. I am more of a later day person as I am not a night person either. I love watching a beautiful sunset more than a sunrise:)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Since retirement, I have generally slept through sunrises, not out of laziness but to make other peoples' mornings less crowded. It's the considerate thing to do.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am definitely a morning person. Like my chickens... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  66. Definitely a morning person. Preferably alone to begin with.
I love the peace, the beauty and serenity - and it is a wonderful place to start to focus my day. Mind you, for some weeks now my eyes have opened between 3 and 4 in the morning. Which even my my standards is too early.

    ReplyDelete
  67. My favorite time of the day. I go to bed at 9 p.m. so I can get up at 5 a.m. Three quiet hours for my morning rituals. Uninterrupted by the busyness of the daylight hours.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That's a gorgeous photograph.

I'm not a morning person, have essentially a love-hate relationship with it. But being a morning person is always a better bet for my mental and physical health and so I am changing my old habits of sleeping in every day. But I've grown immune to alarms; it's like once sleep takes over, I become deaf. Hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hey, high-five, fellow morning person! B)

    ReplyDelete
  70. mornings are my favorite time of the day too. I'm up by 4:45AM - out the door on my walk/run by 5:30AM - I love the solitude. I have found many creative solutions out there with no distractions.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I am constantly stunned at how many people in my circle sleep the best part of the day away! As I type the sun is rising above the trees. Good morning Keith! Try to explain it? no need - only a another morning person gets it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. I love the morning and the possibilities of the new day. I like to walk 3 miles at sunrise, it's like a fresh, clean, quiet page. After the dark, it's hopeful for me. Thanks Keith!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Mainly I like to luxuriate in bed, but when i do make the effort to get up early, I love having the world almost all to myself. It's like holding on to a precious secret.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I hate mornings. What can I say!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Love them! There is just so much you can do in a morning with the sun rising, dew drops, birds singing and more.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mornings and I have always had an uneasy relationship. On the one hand, I love how productive I am in the morning. On the other hand, I really love sleeping and mornings tend to get in the way of that.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Love mornings and watching the world come to life. I'm one of those cheerful bouncing out of bed types. Morning is the chance for a fresh start every 24 hours. Course, I also love the setting sun as all the worlds problems go to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'd love mornings more if they started closer to noon :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. i dont know if there is a time of day that i dont like...i do like to sit on the porch and watch those first rays of sun creep over the edge of the mountain...and autumn crisp mornings...ah i am looking forward to those...

    ReplyDelete
  80. I am definitely a morning person! During the school season, I wake up as early as 5 AM. I appreciate the peace and quiet, love watching the see the sunrise and enjoy watching the world wake up. It's my favourite time of day!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm sure you know by now, that I LOVE mornings. : )

    ReplyDelete
  82. I do love mornings, but I also love dusk! Both times are beautiful, calm and cooler, and the sunrises and sunsets are magical!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm a deep sleeper that's hard to wake up. I HATE mornings

    ReplyDelete
  84. I love whenever I get up and have another morning - and yes they are beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I'm more of a night kinda person, but I have been know to get up early too (sometimes) . And I quite agree with you, those that are still asleep don't know what they're missing!

  87. Beautiful sunrise! I am a morning person, especially like to get up early before anyone else and just savor that quiet peaceful time alone :)

    ReplyDelete
  88. I do absolutely love mornings! Mine start about 4:30, then I'm usually really up by 5:30, check my blog at 6 AM, watch the first few minutes of the news at 7 AM, then I'm ready to work like crazy until about 4. I think I'm stuck on a permanent winter schedule. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  89. it is so hard to choose
    quiet mornings
quiet nights under the stars when it seems the world is sleeping
    all sacred and inspiring
    sweet mornings to you

    ReplyDelete
  90. i despised mornings but then a few years ago i started getting up early in the morning and then realized i was most productive in the morning and it felt great. now i start my day at 5:30 and it still feels amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  91. On those rare occasions when I can drag myself out of bed in time to see the sunrise, I agree, that's the best part of getting up that early.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I wish I loved mornings as much as you do. I'd rather gawk at a scene like that in the evening vs morning, though. It is beautiful either way.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I LOVE early mornings. The very best time of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Mornings do hold so much beauty, but I admit, I am more of a night owl. Your sunrises are like my sunsets. Just can't get enough of them.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Morning is my favorite time of day. I'm more productive and have better ideas then.

  96. I am not a morning person. I cannot remember seeing a sunrise! I love sunsets, starry nights, meteor showers, and brilliant moons.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wow, that is a beautiful shot.
I do love the mornings but I love the afternoons and the evenings too ...
Heck, I just love days ... rain or sunshine , I just love it all ... LOL
I'm not hard to please ... haha

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yes, there's something about the air and the sunlight in the morning. And how there's so many possibilities for the coming day. Morning for the win! =D

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey there, fellow morning person! The thing about all good things is that people either have them or they don't even know that they exist in their goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I dont know whether I am a morning person or a night owl..I love both!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I love Saturday and Sunday mornings, but not Mondays :-p

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh yes, I am a morning person.. I like to see the sunrise.. My hubby is the night owl.. Have a happy day!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I love them .... I love dawn and dusk both, because of the shaded sky ...

    ReplyDelete
  104. I am definitely a morning person - and in winter love to photograph the sunrises which aren't quite as good in the summer for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hi Keith - couldn't agree more .. I love seeing the sun rise and shine out ... bringing us warmth and light and its blessing re life ...

But - sunsets too ... across the Downs here, or over the sea ... the golden glows ... Wonderful thoughts at midday! Cheers Hilary

    ReplyDelete
  106. I love mornings for the same reason! And the freshness of the air... It's good to be part of the morning-loving minority. That way, when everyone else is sleeping, you get to enjoy the quiet calmness and beauty of life. Maybe even with someone special, who knows? :')

    ReplyDelete
  107. I LOVE mornings, Keith. I am not a chatty person in the AM.....I like the quiet of the mornings a listen to everything waking up around me....starting the day in a calm fashion.
    The sunrise is beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I am. Or much of a morning person but I must admit that I can enjoy the beauty of an early morning and am slowly learning to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Truly the best time of the day...so peaceful and fresh and full of promise..but I admit...I like the day all day long!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Before I had my daughter I was most definitely a morning person. I was often up around 3AM for work. I love the quiet, the peacefulness, the beauty of mornings. Some mornings it is a struggle, but I still prefer them...

    ReplyDelete
  111. Beautiful photo. I like mornings, but I like sleeping more!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I do love mornings… because there's so much HOPE. And the world seems… quieter somehow. Less chaotic. Though I do have to admit that I'm a sunset person too… probably because I'm such a nostalgic person. :)

    ReplyDelete
  113. I'm actually not a morning person. I like staying up all night and watching the sunsets.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Lovely -yes I am much more a morning person-after I have had my coffee of course :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. I love those early morning hours when most of the world is still asleep and it's just you and nature. There's something so amazing about being awake at that hour. Like you're part of an exclusive club!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Indeed!!! I AM a morning person!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I love the beauty of mornings, but I'm not often ready to wake up to see it. My natural body clock has other ideas. Beautiful photo!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I love mornings, Keith. There's something about seeing a sunrise, having a good cup of coffee, and even enjoying the stillness in the home before everyone wakes up. I can totally see why you love mornings - it's my favorite time of the day. This picture is so pretty.

  124. Gorgeous photo! I wish I was a morning person, though I sometimes see the sun come up before I go to bed.

  125. Beautiful picture, honey! I do love mornings, too. I love the peace and quiet, watching everything wake up and just enjoying the start to a new day. But I am a night owl, too, the later it gets the more productive I am...so I hardly get to see those early mornings ;) Maybe I can go to bed early a few times when you're here so we get to experience mornings like these together. I'd love that! I love you so much! <3

  126. I and my husband are early birds and morning sunrise is the best time of day... i saw you on Gail at the farm and you mentioned you ar ein KY.. I live in Florida but the happiest years of my childhood were in KY.. we were in Pineville area for 4 years and 3 in Sloans Valley, which is close to Somerset.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Mmm. I used to be a morning/night person. I could swing either way, but my husband is very much a night person. It's been several years of yielding to his preferences, and while I still love mornings, I find them rather hard to wake for. Here's hoping that will change with this coming school year. =)

    ReplyDelete
  128. It certainly is the best time of the day, especially if the sky is cloudless and if you are in the midst of nature. You feel then in limbo, as if nature was about to reveal some secret or itself...
The best time to feel in tune with the environment!
    Keep well and enjoy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. I love mornings, as long as it's after 9:00. ;) I love to sit with a cup of tea and plan my day quietly...not that it happens often!

    ReplyDelete
  130. I am definitely not a morning person, probably because I'm up so late at night. But I do appreciate waking up to the sun shining and the birds chirping.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I normally love mornings, but having kids and rushing around to get them on the school bus kind of puts a damper on the morning enjoyment. Love your picture!

    ReplyDelete
  132. I guess I have a love hate relationship with morning....or maybe I am just a multiple personality....sometimes I love them sometimes I hate them....but your photo could make someone fall in love with them. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I love mornings- but lately it's 2-3 o'clock morning...not so fun. But on the flip side..I am not in any way shape or form a night owl. I'm in bed with the chickens and usually up before they are.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Of course I love mornings! I love every time of day, especially those gorgeous sun rises and sun sets. Mornings mean a new beginning and the dawn is sometimes the only thing to look forward to after a difficult night. I love the saying - 'Tomorrow is a new day'. A fresh start. Although I confess to being a night owl.

    ReplyDelete
  135. i love waking up before the boys. it's peaceful. a new day with the potential for greatness. anything can happen - hope with every sunrise!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Sunrise and sunset are my two favourite times of day. At sunrise, there is the new beginning with its endless opportunities and sunset is, sign, another day over and a brilliant display to keep the spirits up. Thanks for reminding me of this with your beautiful photo. :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Of course, I love mornings and often say: Thank you God for giving me one more excellent morning and day!

    ReplyDelete
  138. I do love mornings, very much! That peaceful, anticipatory hush that always seems to strike about the same time, the unique morning smell, the cooler temperatures and the sounds of all the critters waking up and going about their morning routines… yes. I love it so very much.

But I like the middle of the night even more. It positively reeks of possibility and electric energy. I feel like I can accomplish anything in the wee velvet hours of the night, but the morning is for breathing the peace and gentle goodness of the world into myself. It really depends on what I'm looking to feel when I decide (for the moment) which is my favorite. :)

    ReplyDelete
  139. I love mornings, particuarly in Spring when the birds are all singing and everything feels so freshly green....

    ReplyDelete
  140. I am an early bird my friend I love mornings!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Right now we are living in one room...550 square feet. When my Shug gets up for work at 4:30, I wake up. It's too early. I prefer 6ish or 7ish...not later because when I sleep late I feel like I miss too much of the day. This morning, I went out for a walk on our land and saw a bunny and two deer. Twas beautiful.
    I love your blog.

  142. This morning I love mornings. After working a amazing yet not tiring 15 hour shift yesterday and another 5 hour shift this morning - I awoke this morning at 5:30am in a great mood. I have defiantly change, maybe it's age. Before you couldn't get me up if the house was on fire with a giant alien ship outside. Now I am the first to wake up! It could be the coffee too, ha. But defiantly the sky and the way the sunlight shines in through the blinds is really beautiful :). My mother is a big time morning person. I have finally step over to her wild side.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Sigh... I have to admit I'm not a morning person when I'm at home. However, when we're traveling I love to see everything before it's crowded and hectic.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'd still rather sleep in.
