'Tis the Season!

Fact Check: TRUE:

I have always had a tremendously deep love for Christmas. I begin counting down to Christmas sometime in August, and I begin listening to Christmas music sometime in October (much to the chagrin of friends and coworkers). People have always asked me to explain where my love for Christmas comes from. I cannot really explain it other than to say that my love of Christmas as a child has stayed with me as an adult. It has never left, and in many ways, has only grown stronger

Of course the commercialization of Christmas is a little out of hand, and has been for quite some time. However, that does not offset the joy and giving spirit of the season. I enjoy the season of giving, of camaraderie, and the random acts of kindness. I enjoy the endless supply of ridiculously cheesy-yet-awesome Hallmark Christmas movies. I enjoy hearing Christmas music playing in all of the shops and stores. I enjoy driving around and looking at the Christmas lights on display during a cold winter's night.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that I also love the copious amount of sweets that I consume during this time of year (unrelated, I need a bigger belt).

My blogging family means the world to me, so I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart.

What is your favorite thing about the Christmas season?

  1. That we sure knew as your love is clearly in view haha Nothing wrong with that indeed. Keeping the kid inside alive is a great way to be. We hate the snow, but the rest we are fine with.

  2. Still love Christmas, but it is not quite the same without small children around. I may have to visit grandchildren.

    Merry Christmas!!

  3. Merry Christmas, Keith!
One of my greatest joys is watching my wife open her presents. I also love doing things with my church to reach out to those in need this time of year and letting them know the greatest gift ever was given to us two thousand years ago.

  4. Merry Christmas! It is refreshing to hear an adult that still enjoys Christmas! May it be a good one for you and yours!

  5. Hi Keith,

I know you love snow and well I have plenty of it here it is falling as I type this note. It falls so silently and blankets the cold earth with a sense of peace and purity.

Of course now, I cannot get to the mall to finish my shopping.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas Keith

  15. There are so many things I love about Christmas. I guess if I have to choose just one, it would be the music, which I play non-stop from Thanksgiving through the new year.

    Merry Christmas to you, Keith!

  19. Nice to see your smiling face Keith! We've had a lot of snow and below freezing temps, odd for SE. Washington, I'm hoping we have a white Christmas, or do I? Can't get out to finish my shopping. My favorite thing about Christmas is the kids. I get up early and join my son's family to watch the kiddos open their gifts on Christmas morning. Then we all have a breakfast together. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas :-)

  20. My favorite thing about the holiday season is the fact that people generally seem happier and friendlier. Also, I love color and this certainly is the most colorful holiday/season of the year!

Merry Christmas to you and may you keep your love of Christmas . . . forever!

  21. I enjoy spending time with the people who love me. I am so sick and tired of the commercialization side. I like simple. Merry Christmas to you, dear young man!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Merry Christmas to YOU, too!
I love the entire month before the big day. The anticipation, the preparation, the planning, the quiet evenings in front of the fireplace with the tree sparkling in the dark, and mostly the realization that the Lord uses his birthday to give gifts to us - in the form of all I've mentioned here!

    ReplyDelete
  23. The day when I decorate a Christmas tree hanging very old things known from my childhood is the favorite one. Nice photo, Keith! I see you're very happy.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I just love this post...so heartfelt and rings so true of a lot of us...Christmas time brings out the child in us, for which I am so thankful. I truly wish you the Merriest Christmas ever.

  26. I start feeling Christmassy today - the week before (which just happens to be today). I've just had a lovely extended family lunch, and now I'm watching Miracle on 34th Street.

    Merry Christmas Keith x

    ReplyDelete
  27. Merry Christmas! You definitely have harnessed the “merry” of the season. Your zest for all things Christmassy is inspiring and everything it was meant to be. Of course some are sadder than ever during this time. I think Christmas mirrors how people feel about where they are in their lives. Those that don’t feel disenfranchised in some way or lonely are free to dive into the festivities full force!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Me too! I just love Christmas! You look very happy and I love what you write. Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi Keith! I love this post. After reading it I was sitting here reflecting on it. Keith, have you ever heard people say, when speaking about others, “He’s the quiet type … doesn’t say much, but when he speaks, people listen.” :-) I feel that way about you. You have a great outlook on life. Your fascination with Christmas makes me smile. That is a great shot of you with two thumbs up! To answer your question, the best thing about Christmas is the way people seem more kind and friendly to one another. All the best of the season to you from Seattle. By the way, I love your background image … just beautiful. Take care and be well, my friend!

  30. My family loves Christmas. It's always been about being together for us. The company and love is gift enough. We're so grateful for how close our 6 children are even now as adults. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Watch the sweets. Belts are unbelievably expensive.

  32. Hi Keith. Did you say the copious amount of sweets that you consume? So how come you look so slim-lined? Share your secret with me haha! Anyway, what I like most about X-mas is not seeing my colleagues for a while. That's not a joke, unfortunately. For me it's a time to recharge my batteries being surrounded by friends and family.

    Merry X-mas!

  33. My favorite part is definitely the copious amount of sweets you mentioned. I'm more than happy to stuff myself unconscious :P

  34. Hello Keith!:) I like your photo, you grow more handsome each year!:)) Our Christmas tree is decorated, presents wrapped, food bought and Christmas pudding and mince pies made, and we have been listening to Christmas music for several days. I love the Christmas spirit in my home, and most of all I love giving the Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day lunch, and watching the joy on my loved ones faces when they open their presents. It's a lovely time of the year, and I'm so glad you love it so much. Merry Christmas Keith to you and your family, and Best Wishes for a wonderful New Year.

  35. my favorite thing was making the trek from texas to colorado to spend christmas in the cabin my mother's family owned outside of aspen; her brothers would gather their kids and meet us there. we've not done that in ages, and i miss it. but that's past... finding something to love in the present's pretty tricky for me. but i love your enthusiasm. it's nice to see. thanks for sharing it.

  38. I also love Christmas have done all my life, I love to shop for gifts and prepare gifts for my family, in some ways I love to give a tad more than I love to receive but just a tad although opening gifts sometimes in front of people can be a bit overwhelming

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love the way you have kept your child-like wonder for Christmas.. I must admit I'm a bit of a kid too when it comes to the season. We've just come home with a tree and the whole house smells delicious.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love Christmas too :) Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love getting things for my family members. That includes my nephews. It's just so cool to see the look on their faces when they open something that I picked out with hopes that it's the gift for them.

My husband's family is blah about Christmas. To them it's all about Christ, and shouldn't be commercial at all. I love to give, so I dislike how they are such downers about it.

My family has always been givers. My kids love going to my parent's house on Christmas Eve.

  42. Great post, Keith. I loved Christmas as a child (who didn't?) but I'm pretty ambivalent about the whole shebang these days... tree? What tree? :)

A Merry Christmas to you and yours!

    Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  57. It'd be impossible to narrow it down to one favorite thing. I've always loved the kinder-than-usual sentiments between strangers, the Christmas pageants, the music... especially singing the "Hallelujah Chorus" with the choir... and the joy of making or buying the perfect gift for people I love.

I hope you and your bride have a glorious Christmas. :)

  58. Merry Christmas!!!!

    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Merry Christmas to you. I love Christmas. The family gatherings, the lights, the music, wrapping gifts, and watching people open them. Of course there is the food and all the sweet goodies. The thing I like most is that it is the one time of year when we stop and take the time to let people know how much we care about them.

Keith, I wish you much happiness this holiday and in the year ahead.

  65. Hi Keith - what I like best about Christmas is the children's Christmas program at church. So peaceful, and the kids basically don't know of all the stuff that is happening in the world at large. It is nice to be innocent....for a little while.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Merry Christmas!
Your words and the love for the Christmas expressed in this lovely essay are so amazing. Indeed, it is a time for all of the things mentioned above. And we're really lucky to have this time for decorations, watching old movies, to listen old carols and to meet old friends, or even new ones... to even eat sweets and to admire nature around us. I think it's all about the spirit of the season. It's all about positivity. My favourite thing? the atmosphere...So, I hope to have a white Christmas, just like in childhood, in "old good times".
Many thanks for your visits to my blog, too and Happy Holidays to you! Crăciun fericit!

Enjoy Christmas, and have a Happy New Year!

  83. Merry Christmas. Your post arrived on a special day --one I share with Pope Francis-- that signals the Yuletide, the onset of Christmas Spirit. In the northern hemisphere, it furnishes emotional warmth in a chilly season --hope it does something as pleasant below the equator. My best wishes to you and Beate in this and all seasons.

  84. Have a lovely Merry Christmas. Your enthusiasm for Christmas is delightful. I agree. The music, the greetings and smiles on people's faces, homes and yards decorated, brightening the neighborhoods. I love it all, but mostly I like the smiles strangers give you and people being generous with what they have, sharing with others, like toys for children, meals for the homeless. That's what it's all about: loving others as Jesus loves us. Thanks for the reminder.

  85. Wow, sounds like you really love Christmas! I feel happy to read your post and see that you fully enjoy the holiday season :-) Commercialization is seriously out of hand, and the obligation of gift exchange is quite stressful. But I do enjoy the part that I celebrate for my kitties with special snack and presents :-) I wish you a wonderful Christmas!

  90. Lucky, when you have such sweet memories and a truly Christmas feeling -
I have only very bad memories from the Christmas of my childhood and later I've stopped to celebrate this unfortunately holiday (which makes me such bad feelings) and found my own ritual to celebrate solstice at 21 or 22 of december. At Christmas I often was working and so could another person have a free day to celebrate (now I'm retired).
Since at Christmas eve 2014 my cat had the accident and was hard injured and a long horrible time begun, I've lost still the last rest of Christmas feeling. A little decoration is simple routine and I made the photos from Christmas market only for my blog visitors from all over the world. The holiday means nothing for me, only a few old Polish songs I like to hear in december.

Here you can read about my solstice celebrating and next Friday will aivable a new post about this year.

  93. Keith, you are my sort of person. I love everything about Christmas. I have long since given up on feeling pressured to spend money I can't afford and have made it clear to people that we don't have a lot to spare. We love to invite our many friends over for a social evening of drink and nibbles. Far nicer than buying presents that they don't want with money I can't spare. A couple of bottles of wine and a few plates of nibbles go a long way to making a party when you are surrounded by friends.

  99. Like you, Christmas is my FAVE holiday!!!! I have always decorated BEFORE Thanksgiving, the more outside lights the better (Mrs. Griswold is my stage name *wink*), and I have MORE Christmas decor inside, than I do during the rest of the year! I think my fave part is the way my kids faces have ALWAYS lit up when they come out on Christmas morning and saw what Santa left for them ... there is nothing better than that face! :) I hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I am so pleased to read that another adult out there - not just me - loves Christmas. I still love those department store Santas, Hallmark Christmas movies, Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney still bring me to tears in White Christmas, the smell of the trees, the colors of the poinsettias. . .everything. Especially friends, old and new, sending greetings. Merry Christmas to you!!!

  102. Thanks for your Christmas wish.I like Christmas too in combination with Easter. I like Christmascarols and the magnificent music by Bach and Handel.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I am sad though about the fact that there is no peace on earth and that there never was. I am also sad that it has become a feast of eating and giving presents.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Wonderful, I too love Christmas but for much different reasons. Our Christmas is simple we get together and eat...and visit.
I love Christmas Eve and for some reason it still has a magical hold on me.

  105. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for Christmas! Enthusiasm is contagious... in a good way! Wishing you the very best of this joyous season.

Have a great one and truly enjoy yourself! All the best in the New Year too !

    ReplyDelete
  109. Merry Christmas to all!

I just enjoy the changing of the seasons, the quiet snowy nights and the crisp and clear day.

    Enjoy the holidays.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Merry Merry Christmas! I love all the Christmas baking and candy making-and I love love all the Hallmark Christmas movies too

    ReplyDelete
  111. Food! I'm fighting my love of holiday food to regain my slim boyish figure which I haven't had in a long time, but I'm getting there.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I get a bounce just reading of your enthusiasm. What still gets me about Christmas is seeing a child's eyes when they get that gift they totally wanted. I've kind of out grown the season except for that. Never get tired of a happy child's face or pictures of grown men with that same look like you have.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I start humming Christmas songs and knitting socks in September. I too love Christmas, since always, and admit that an important part of the magic is created by the material things, decoration, food, gifts... but recently the importance of the non-material aspects has been growing - and it makes me feel "lighter".
    I seldom wear a belt. :)

    Merry Christmas, Keith!

    ReplyDelete
  114. My favorite part of Christmas? It is always something little ...the way one tiny ornament on my tree has a sparkly bit I have never noticed, a kindness that someone does that think no one sees, the love from the blogging community...friends I have never met and they always wish me a Merry Christmas! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  115. Merry Christmas! I love Christmas too. I love decorating my house and I have a very large collection or Hallmark ornaments that I adore. Stop on over on Christmas Day to see my decorations at http://skyesofblue.blogspot.com/ and thank you for stopping over at my Debby's Tree blog last week.

    ReplyDelete
  116. For me it's all about the family and the grandchildren. Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I too love the cheesy TV movies (of the Hallmark variety). And... That's about it. I worked at the evil toy store for 11 tortuous seasons, and that just about kicked all the Christmas joy out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I love the decorations, the family, the food, the cookies and binge watching The Christmas Story. Oh, did I mention I am not even a religious person? (I used to be). For us, this season is all about being together.

  119. Merry Christmas. I love Christmas too. It's a special time of year.

  120. The thing I like most about Christmas is that it is the birth of Christ and that God gave us the best gift of all through Jesus his son. : )
    Eternal life.
That said I do enjoy Christmas and the good and kindness it brings out in people. If only it would last all year through.

  121. It's so nice to see someone who actually loves Xmas! So many people are bah humbug about it all. I like the carols, the lights, my christmas tree, food and drink, and the time off work. A very happy Christmas to you Keith!

  122. I love the Christmas season too Keith... my favorite thing is getting in touch with family and friends and spending time with them... I also adore watching movies like It's A Wonderful Life and Miracle On 34th Street... It's a great time to connect xox

  123. Couldn't have put it better myself!

December has long been one of my favorite months because of Christmas in the air. The commercialization of the holidays makes me roll my eyes, but my love for the season is no less because of it. It's always nice to see people enjoying it for what it is, for the fun and the spirit. Maybe people'll get tired of the shopping stress one day and just enjoy it lol..

    Merry Christmas to all. :)

  124. That is the most adorable Christmas picture.....ever. You are one enthusiastic Dude.
I love the Christmas music. I sing it all year round. I can't say I like the actual Christmas as much as I like the music but Christmas music all year can't be all bad.

  125. I love Christmas, too, although maybe not as much as you. Picking only one favorite thing is too hard! Family tops the list, but I also love giving gifts, the wonderful peace in our home late on Christmas Eve with the only lights being those on the tree, and Christmas tamales!

  126. Hi Keith, love your photo and T-shirt, and you have a beautiful smile! I love Christmas! I actually love winter! And I am so glad that Christmas is celebrated in the winter, because I cannot imagine it without the snow and cold temperatures! As long as it is not -30 or icy, I am a happy camper and I love coming home after a long walk into a warm place and sipping a nice cup of hot chocolate! :) Merry Christmas to you, dear friend. :)

  128. Well so glad to see a man loving Christmas and all that goes with it! My husband loves some of it like the part where I decorate and give our home a festive feeling! I will say he was losing his patience yesterday when waiting in line over half an hour to be waited on to pay for something! LOL! I hope you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  129. Hey, great to see your smiling face.
Many Happy Christmas Wishes to you Keith.

Christmas is magical, especially seen through the eyes of the grandchildren

Enjoy the season and have a happy new year too.

    All the best Jan

  130. I don't celebrate Christmas, but I do enjoy many of the things you mentioned. I love Christmas music, and seeing houses decked out in Christmas lights; I enjoy being invited to friends who do celebrate Christmas, and love watching holiday movies! Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

  131. I'm a Christmas nut just like you. It's my favourite holiday of the year. But this year my spirit took much longer to come around. I think some of it has to do with it being the first year with no kids in the house during the holidays! That'll do it. But I'm good now. And ready to enjoy. Merry Christmas, my friend! I hope it's a great one for you.

  132. I love Christmas too! I especially enjoy looking at all the lights and sitting by the tree. There is a wonderful spirit in the air and the music is so festive. Merry Christmas to you! :)

Watching Rudolph and singing along with the songs on that show! (I'm just a misfit...) hehe
I'm going caroling tomorrow night in our neighborhood!
All the Christmas music is my favorite part.
    And the fudge. ;)

  134. It is sad that Christmas has become so commercial. Our Christmas spirit was rejuvinated with the birth of our grandchildren. To me, I just want to have my family around me at Christmas. Wishing you and yours a happy one. And thank you for stopping by my blog!

    ReplyDelete
  135. An early Merry Christmas to you! One of my favorite things about the holiday season is most of the Christmas music I hear on the radio. I say "most" because there are a few songs I'm not so crazy about, such as the "12 Days of Christmas," LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  136. It may be that I am disappointed in so much of humanity that I withdraw into my turtles home during every "celebratory" season.

I do not begrudge them the seasons that find affection for them. Myself though? *meh* Too much trouble on the planet to disregard it for a few weeks.

  137. I love the build-up to Christmas but on the actual day I always feel sad and wish it as all over. Have a nice one.

  138. Awesome shirt, Keith! My favorite thing about the Christmas season is the time off work. The semester break is usually about three weeks and it's WONDERFUL to be at home. I collect Christmas movies and own enough to watch nearly one per day all year. I am currently having my "A Christmas Carol" Film Fest. You know how many versions there are of that? Fa la la la la!

  139. Your enthusiasm makes me smile! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! :)

  140. I enjoy Christmas myself. It's a little less fun as an adult but there is still some fun to be had and it is nice to give as well as receive. My favourite part of the Christmas affair is all the bright lights and decorations. They look so beautiful. Especially at night.

  141. May all the joys of the season be yours in abundance! Blessings for the new year as well!

  142. You know I feel the same way about Christmas and sweets as you do! :) I love everything about this season. Family, friends, giving, good food, sweet treats, snow, Christmas music and movies...it all makes me happy.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  143. I think it's a beautiful thing that you love Christmas so much! My favourite thing about Christmas is just the feeling you get at this time of year, like things are a little bit brighter. :) Have a wonderful Christmas!

  144. I love Christmas tree from the childhood but I started to decorate only after I started blogging and going through the celebration of blogger buddies across the world inspire me to take part in the event and I am placing x-mass tree for only half a decade.

  147. I'm not quite as crazy about Christmas as you are Keith, but it's one of my favorite holidays. It's been tough the last 5 Christmas's not seeing my family. I'm feeling so grateful that I'm home for Christmas this year. The family time is the best thing about Christmas. I'd be perfectly happy not exchanging gifts with anyone, just to spend time together.

I hope you are having a great holiday season Keith! Merry Christmas, and I hope you have a happy New Year! 🎅🏻🎄🎁

  148. Merry Christmas, Keith! I love wrapping presents and putting them under the tree. It drives me crazy knowing other family members have presents squirreled away in their rooms that they haven't bothered to wrap yet. What in the world are they waiting for?

    ReplyDelete
  149. First of all, Merry Christmas to you! I have two favorite things about the holidays. Catching up with friends and distant family, and the food special to the time of year. I even like fruitcake!

  154. I have always loved Christmas too! It never really feels like Christmas to me until I get home to my parents place so I don't start celebrating as early as you ;) My mum is great at decorating the house with traditional decorations like holly and mistletoe and ribbon and I also love cold walks through my village to look at the festive lights! Merry Christmas :)

  155. What a beautiful, happy post! Your photo is fantastic! You have a great smile! I love Christmas too! I still believe in Santa! And, I think that's what I love about Christmas, is the "believing", the "giving". Doing something for someone you don't know. I also love winter too! I think it's such a magical time of the year!
    Merry Christmas!!! Many Blessings!

  157. Thanks Keith for always popping over to visit my blog & the lovely comments that you take the time to leave me. I love christmas too & like you, I think it has become wayyy too commercialised. Getting together with friends & family is the part I enjoy the most. I would love - just once - to experience it in a cold climate as its getting hot, hot, hot over here. Have a wonderful festive season Keith, eat those sweets & enjoy them (I do !!!). I look forward to your posts for 2017.

  158. Like your Christmas we have here a yearly festival day which is called EID .reading your excitement about your Christmas made me remember our EID day which starts to warm my blood before months and i feel same joy and thrill that i used to feel in my childhood or teenage when lived with my parents .
i made colorful cards and decorate them .then i paste them on all walls of the house around me and it feels as everything around me is wishing me EID .
it makes me sad too when i think about my late parents and tears role down with long flow until my kids hug me and i try to be cheerful again .
wishing you a very BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL Christmas ahead!

  159. It always seems like no matter what, that we make more time for family and friends during the holidays. That's my favorite part. I also really love snow.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Like you, Keith, the magic for me is the giving and the random acts of kindness.
It would be so nice if we could have some snow for a change though...it hasn't snowed here for three years now!:/

Wishing You a Wonderful and Magical Christmas too...:)

  161. Merry Christmas, Keith!

I know about the copious amounts of sweets. I'm the one baking them! What do I like best about Christmas? That's a tough one. I like the decorating and the baking and the music. It all has a nostalgic, homey feel.

  163. My favorite thing about the season is the Christmas cookies! I was at Magic Muffler in the waiting room the other day, and a lady there told me about how she makes her fudge--with Velveeta cheese! Looking forward to trying it one of these days. Blessings to you and Beate!

  166. My favorite thing is that we are celebrating the birth of Jesus, but I love everything else too. The presents are fun, the decorations rock, the Christmas music is awesome, everyone pulling together to help others, like you said...is more abundant. It's just a nice, nice season and I love it. Merry Christmas to you! Tip: Don't invest in a bigger belt, the weight will go away when the holiday treats do. :)

  167. you look forward to christmas from AUGUST!!! haha that is unusual :) in a nice way ...pretty rare i must say

    ReplyDelete
  168. My favorite thing about Christmas, like mail4rosey says, celebrating the birth of Jesus, but for me, that's about it. I live too far away from family to afford the planefare to visit them during the holidays ( when plane fares are jacked up) and my friends who know I will be alone, don't invite me to spend Christmas with them. I just want Christmas to be over.

  169. As a child, I immensely enjoyed decorating a big Christmas tree standing proud in the living room, which was rare in Japan back then, but my parents did anything to please my bedridden younger brother due to the aftereffect of polio. I remember I was a greedy child, I loved presents. Now I recall the warmth of family together fondly and think of my late parents and the brother who passed away young at 16.

As a parent and now a grandparent, my joy was/is to hear the cheerful shouts and see sparkles in the little children’s faces to find a present from Santa-san (we call so affectionately). Ours is secular Christmas, but it’s no bad as we respect the spirit of giving and sharing, love and forgiveness.

Wish you a joyous and delicious Christmas.

  173. Christmas is also my favourite celebration of the year! Maybe you love it a bit more than me... starting the count down all the way in August! But it's the one celebration my family celebrate most (we don't do it commercial though -- more so religious, fewer decorations and a couple presents to exchange in the family) and I think my favourite thing is the family atmosphere!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Well your enthusiasm has inspired a smile in me.

    Merry Christmas to you!

  175. I laughed reading your text :) I enjoy Christmas inspite of the commercialization, but I don't start thinking of it in August :)

  176. Christmas truly is the "most wonderful time of the year" for many reasons! I think my favorite part now is having grandchildren who get so excited by all the seasonal joys of Santa Claus as well as the story of Jesus' birth. Their bright eyed innocence brings me joy!

  181. Hi there - hope you are well.

It's an interesting experience to learn how to have Christmas in summer - over 20 years of trying and it still does not feel 'real' - kids help a lot - but it seems to be a season to gather in close, and the cold and dark may help.

Hope you have a great Christmas - Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

  182. I really enjoyed Christmas in Germany a few years ago! After enjoying mulled wine at the open market I asked them if I could buy the mugs as souvenirs and they sold us two! :) I agree with you Christmas is "the most wonderful time of the

  184. OMG...I've found a kindred spirit! I've been known to play Christmas music in October. I'm pretty skilled at ignoring the commercialism of business, but I've never been bothered or offended by any display of Christmas stuff appearing in stores in August... :-)

There's nothing I don't like about Christmas! Hope you are having a wonderful one!
