All Along

I wonder how many times we’ve crossed paths and never knew it. How many times we’ve been in adjacent aisles in the grocery store, missed each other by mere minutes on a foot path, or been at the same stoplight at the same time. I wonder if, in those moments, we had an unexplainable sense of familiarity wash over us. I wonder if we knew each other all along. Even when we didn’t.

  1. I spent 20 minutes with another woman in the produce department of our local grocery trying to figure out where we knew each other from. We couldn't, gave up and laughed about how familiar each other seemed.

  3. Love these words, and seeing you post once in a while : ) Like an old friend passing by on the other side of the street with a little wave...

  4. I have had that happen to me... not often, but it has... where I've talked to a stranger and felt like I knew this person... even when I didn't (in another life maybe?)

  7. I have had that feeling in the grocery store a few times but just thought that it must be my memory failing me. I don't want to stare but someone looks familiar and I can't be sure...
It's good to see a post from you after a long absence. I don't blog often either these days.

  11. My wife and I have lived in the same county for about 10ish years before we met. I always kind of wonder if we had crossed paths before.

  13. I have been busy working on my family tree. When I find new relatives from my DNA matches, I often discover that they lived nearby and I think that I could have passed them in a store or just walking around town.

  14. Love this!! I have wondered the same before. I recently found out a fellow blogger lived in the same town, and we had the opportunity to meet. It was wonderful!

  23. Hi - yes as Jeff says good to see you back posting. I constantly see people I think I know - and usually have to work out were they dressed when I saw them, or in sports clothes?! Someone remembered me the other day - though I knew him ... but couldn't for the life of me place him - from my mother's Nursing Centre ... resolved! Take care =- cheers Hilary
